Regenerative Injections
What are regenerative injections?
Regenerative injection therapy is the technique used to administer regenerative medicine. It refers to the process of injecting a solution into damaged tissue to trigger the body’s self-healing capabilities causing the generation of new tissue. It is used to treat chronic pain and musculoskeletal injuries. Some of the common injection areas are the neck, lower back, knee, shoulder, hip and ankle.
There are two types of regenerative injection therapies:
- Prolotherapy or Proliferative Therapy: This targets the tendons, ligaments, and joints by injecting them with an inflammatory substance promoting the body’s natural healing process.
- Platelet Rich Plasma Injection: This technique injects a biological concentrate of the patient’s own platelets, called a tissue graft. It is embedded onto the damaged tissue, and accelerates tissue regeneration.
What are some of the health benefits of regenerative injections?
